At least 20 major routes and highways through Colorado are shut down Sunday amid a strong late-season snow storm.
Popular weekend routes that are closed include US-6 Loveland Pass, CO-14 Cameron Pass, which is shut down due to avalanche debris, and parts of the Interstate 25 corridor.

Most of Colorado’s roads are snow-packed and icy early Sunday.
The National Weather Service forecasts heavy snow is likely through Monday along Interstate 25, the eastern plans, and mountain corridors up to the Continental Divide. Travelers should be prepared for closures, and unnecessary travel is strongly discouraged during this event, officials said. Road closures are highly likely.

Westbound Interstate 70 remains closed in Debeque Canyon, mile marker 62, due to a crash and cleanup. There is no estimated time of reopening.
Aurora police report motorists are stranded on city roadways east of E-470 from Jewell Avenue north to 64th Avenue. Police are highly discouraging travel in the area, east of Aurora.

The transportation department said all commercial vehicles will need chains and passenger cars will need adequate tires during adverse weather conditions.
