LAFC have been struggling as of late, with their last win coming on April 18th, and they may be getting the Colorado Rapids at exactly the wrong time, as the visitors have won all of their last 3 contests.

It is early in the season, but the Colorado Rapids are looking like legit contenders this year and their last game against the Houston Dynamo was masterful, as they picked up that victory by a score of 3-1.
That latest victory now has the Rapids sitting in 4th place with a game in hand on the teams in front of them expect for Sporting KC and they really should be looking to pick up all 3 points here, as LAFC are currently in dead last in the standings.
Colorado is one of the few teams who still play a more traditional 4-4-2 with Bassett and Rubio up front who have both been effective thus far this year and who both scored in that last game against Houston.
The one worry I have for the Rapids this season is the defense, as they are getting the job done at this early juncture of the season, but they are conceding at regular intervals and they will need to clean that up if they are to compete in a strong Western Conference.
LAFC
LAFC actually do still have a strong roster, but they have not been able to get things going so far this year and the LA faithful will be hoping a return to Banc of California Stadium will be just what this team needs.
The biggest hit to this team so far has been the absence of their best player, and possibly the best player in all of the MLS Carlos Vela, who is expected back soon and once he does come back I fully expect that we see this team starting to click once again.
LAFC play a nice 3-1-4-2 lineup which always gives it’s players outlet passes and really suits how this team likes to play and with the wing backs being given so mush freedom in the formation expect plenty of service to the strikers up top.
Free Colorado Rapids vs LAFC MLS Prediction:
Carlos Vela is unlikely to be back in this spot, and given what we have seen out of the Colorado Rapids so far, I think it makes some sense to take a shot on the road underdog given how lopsided the odds are.
The Rapids should come in here with plenty of confidence and it does not seem out of the question that they can pick up all three points here, and at +375 it becomes a very enticing bet, as I just don’t think that LAFC should be laying juice like that without Carlos Vela in the lineup.
His status is still a little bit up in the air and we have nothing confirmed as of yet, as LAFC have been quite secretive around the issue, so be sure to keep an eye out for some news prior to kickoff.
