Following its introduction in the local market late last month, General Motors just officially launched the refreshed 2021 Chevrolet Colorado in South Korea – the first foreign country where the midsize pickup was introduced after its launch in the United States. The company revealed all the details and prices of the updated versions of the Colorado in the Asian country, where its sales began on September 15.
The refreshed 2021 Chevrolet Colorado arrives in the South Korean market with an expanded lineup and more standard equipment to reinforce its high level of acceptance among local customers, standing out as the segment pioneer and the only genuine pickup truck sold in the country today. Since its introduction exactly one year ago, demand for the Colorado has exceeded GM’s expectations and is among the top five best-selling imported models in South Korea.
“Following Colorado’s successful domestic market debut last year, we are very pleased to release the new Colorado with an advanced exterior design and best-in-class performance,” said the President and CEO of GM Korea, Kaher Kazem, in a statement. “We are confident that we will continue to lead the pickup truck market and present a good alternative to those seeking to expand their lifestyle and customer experience in the domestic automobile market,” he added.
As we reported earlier, the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado adds two new range-topping variants to complete a five-trim offering in Korea. The Z71-X and Z71-X Midnight Edition versions boast a unique appearance and enhance the trucks’ off-road experience with premium features. The entire range equips the 3.6L LGZ V6 engine with 312 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Unlike the existing Extreme-X trim, the Colorado Z71-X includes the Hill Decent Control system for stable downhill driving and a transfer case shield to protect key powertrain components when driving off-road. In addition, the new variant adds several premium features such as wireless smartphone charging, a high-definition rear camera and the latest Chevrolet infotainment system with voice recognition.
For its part, the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado Z71-X Midnight Edition completes the offering with a unique presence thanks to its all-black finish, designed for customers seeking a more distinguished and personalized appearance. It stands out for its black front grille, dark exhaust tip and 17-inch gloss black painted alloy wheels. Inside, the new editions have an exclusive black color scheme with Misty Blue accents on the dash and doors.
The refreshed 2021 Chevrolet Colorado is now available at the brand’s dealer network in South Korea, with more standard features and a total of five colors for its unique Crew Cab, short box configuration: Tuxedo Black, Pure White, Ash Gray, as well as two new hues – Cherry Pop Red and Topaz Blue. The prices of the five versions of the 2021 Colorado available in the South Korean market are as follows:
