What Is CBD?

CBD is one of the more than 100 chemicals found in cannabis. This plant extract is often consumed by placing oil under the tongue. CBD is showing up in many products including body lotion, jam, and bath scrubs.

CBD is short for Cannabidiol and won’t get you high like THC. CBD is a non-psychoactive chemical compound that won’t alter your state of mind. It can come from the hemp plant or marijuana plant. The marijuana plant CBD has much more THC in its extract.

Since there is more THC in marijuana extract CBD, most CBD products are derived from hemp. Depending on the area of the US in which you live, the laws may be different on use of CBD oil so make sure to check before owning CBD products.

CBD oil is legal in more states than medical marijuana or recreational marijuana. Checking for laws in your specific state will let you know what you can expect.

As research continues to point toward the helpfulness of CBD, more companies are researching and beginning product development in hemp and marijuana-friendly countries like Canada.

In states like California, there is even a CBD beverage. As other states see the results of law changes, they will begin to follow in their footsteps.

What Is Anxiety?

Anxiety can be a helpful part of your life. It’s that feeling that makes you itch to get something done. You may feel anxious about impending debt or bills that need to be paid.

In this case, it usually spurs you to action so you can get things taken care of. In other instances, anxiety isn’t as helpful.

Anxiety is out of control when you feel like you are stuck in a thought loop. You can’t stop thinking about a specific thought or thing that might happen in the future. Your anxiety may be rational or irrational but it is causing negative effects in your life.

When it comes to public speaking specifically, anxiety might result in vomiting before a speech. You might feel weak or worried just thinking about getting on stage in front of people.

If you are avoiding an issue or not taking care of yourself properly, your anxiety could be out of control. Another sure sign of out of control anxiety is trying to plan or control things that you can’t control.

When you experience anxiety, it isn’t just that you are uncomfortable. Anxiety can wreck your life by putting strain on your relationships. Your work may be compromised and cause you to be less able to provide for your family.

CBD News on Treating Anxiety

Completed human trials from the US are still on the horizon but are showing positive results. With the number of people taking legal CBD products and seeing results, it is only a matter of time until there is more concrete evidence to support these claims.

In a small study from Brazil, a simulated public speaking scenario. Subjects noted they experienced less anxiety while speaking in public. Their blood pressure and heart rate confirmed that their statements were true.

Researchers for this study concluded that the CBD helped to reduce the speaker’s anxiety, discomfort, and cognitive impairment during their speech. The group that had the placebo experienced increased discomfort, higher anxiety, and more cognitive impairment.

How Does CBD Work to Help Anxiety?

Your body has its own endocannabinoid system and CBD interfaces with it. The ECS manages processes in our bodies like memory, sleep, mood and pain perception. Stress recuperation is one of the primary purposes of the ECS.

CBD communicates with a neurotransmitter called the gamma-aminobutyric corrosive (GABA). GABA sends messages from one brain cell to another and this message is usually saying “back off.” GABA tells the body when it is a good time to shut down.

With a huge number of neurons in the cerebrum reacting to GABA, studies suggest you’ll see a reduction in your anxiety, along with improved muscle relaxation, better rest and more.
