President Biden took a brief break from his summer vacation on Friday for a press conference to discuss his disturbing, alternative reality of America’s chaotic wildly successful withdrawal from Afghanistan.
The spin was so embarrassing, every Democrat in the State of Colorado dove for cover.
Except for U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, who awkwardly chose this tragic moment in American history to jump into campaign mode for his 2022 reelection bid.
🚨Senator @MichaelBennet is fundraising while the Taliban takes full control of Afghanistan. Can you say tone deaf?
He is more concerned with his re-election campaign than the thousands of Americans & allies stuck under terrorist control.

Colorado Republican Chair Kristi Burton Brown has been beating the drum all week, criticizing Bennet’s absence from the crisis while noting his role on the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Beyond heartbreaking. 💔

Bennet had no response to Biden’s bizarre press conference.
It was Republican U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn who succinctly summed up Biden’s sad performance thusly:
Joe Biden is either lying to the American people, or he is so disconnected from reality he doesn’t understand the situation in Afghanistan.
Both are equally concerning.

Biden weakly assured the nation he would rescue every American he left behind enemy lines.
All they have to do is call an Uber or something to get a ride past armed Taliban checkpoints where people are getting beaten and killed outside the airport.

Meanwhile, European forces have already entered the city and crossed Taliban lines to rescue their civilians.
Fleeing reality or just lying through his teeth, Biden insisted to reporters al Qaeda is no longer in Afghanistan, contrary to reports from the Pentagon.
And asked about America’s reputation now in tatters — like the British Parliament holding Biden in contempt for creating an international crisis — Biden responded: “I have seen no question of our credibility from our allies around the world.”

Now he’s just lying.
Even Vice President Harris couldn’t contain her side eye stink-eye as Biden mush-mouthed his way through a written statement and pre-approved questions from reporters.
Is anyone in Congress drafting articles of impeachment yet?
