Floyd’s of Leadville offers a variety of CBD and hemp-based products, said to offer a reduction in post-exercise inflammation, along with antioxidant and anti-anxiety properties. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid of marijuana, and has been in the news lately having been legalized nationwide – sort of.
As part of the 2018 Farm Bill, farmers in all 50 states are allowed to produce industrial hemp, which has been removed from the Schedule 1 drug classification and can be used to produce CBD products. This gives a boost to the CBD industry, effectively legalizing all CBD products that fall below the legal limit of 0.3% THC. CBD products containing more than 0.3% THC remain federally illegal. The final rub is that not all government agencies agree on CBD, with the most recent reports saying that the DEA still classifies it as illegal, and the FDA still considering it a drug.
