WASHINGTON, DC- Thinking perhaps he shouldn’t tip his hand, but according to an exclusive report in Breitbart News, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy says that if Republicans regain the House majority in November, some Democrats can plan to lose their committee seats.

McCarthy, who is poised to be Speaker in place of Nancy Pelosi should Republicans prevail said he would remove Democrats Adam Schiff (CA) and Eric Swalwell (CA) from their assignments on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from her committee assignment on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

The minority leader also said that Swalwell would be removed from his seat on the Homeland Security Committee as well. McCarthy said he was just playing by the rules set up by Pelosi, who has run the House as her own version of a politburo.

“The Democrats have created a new thing where they’re picking and choosing who can be on committees,” McCarthy said.

“Never in the history [of Congress] have you had the majority tell the minority who can be on committee.

But this new standard which these Democrats have voted for—if Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the private sector, there is no reason why he should be given one to be on Intel or Homeland Security. He will not be serving there.”

Swalwell’s presence on the Intelligence committee is a contradiction in terms, because reports are that he’s literally one of the dumbest members in the House.

McCarthy was asked if he would be using the new standard Democrats have implemented whereby they have removed Republicans such as Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) and Paul Gosar (AZ) from their committee assignments to which McCarthy answered in the affirmative concerning Swalwell.

He said he would also remove Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

“Ilhan Omar should not be serving on Foreign Affairs,” McCarthy said. “This is a new level of what the Democrats have done.”

Omar and Swalwell wouldn’t be the only Democrats looking for new committee assignments. McCarthy said that House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) would also be sent packing.

“You look at Adam Schiff—he should not be serving on Intel when he has openly, knowingly now used a fake dossier, lied to the American people in the process and doesn’t have any ill will [and] says he wants to continue to do it,” McCarthy said.

“We’re going to reshape—think about what happened in Afghanistan. Why did Afghanistan collapse so fast? Was the Intel Committee under Adam Schiff focused on impeachment and not on the safety of America?

What are people coming across the border that are on the terrorist watch list? What are they doing about it?” McCarthy asked.

He slammed the Democrats on the Intel committee who are denying that is in fact happening, and noted that under Schiff, the committee has lost focus on what it is supposed to be doing.

“It should do exactly what it was created [to do]—overseeing of our agencies and others. We’re going to hold people to a higher standard in the process if they want to be on the Intel committee and the training to be a part of it. Take the politics out of it,” he told Breitbart.

This all comes after the committee’s former Republican ranking member—Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA)—retired from Congress to head up former President Trump’s new social media platform.

McCarthy has named Ohio Republican Mike Turner to be the new ranking member, and he would presumably take over as chairman if Republicans gain the majority in November.

As McCarthy said, Democrats set the standard for removing people from committee assignments, and all three whom McCarthy referred to—Swalwell, Omar and Schiff—have a number of problems which would justify their removal from committee assignments.

For example where Schiff is concerned, he made up a phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and read out into the record nonexistent contents of the call for dramatic effect during Trump’s first impeachment trial.

He also was obsessed on the “Russia collusion” narrative, and claimed, falsely, that he had “more than circumstantial” evidence of collusion between Trump and Moscow.

Even after special counsel Robert Mueller found zero evidence to back up those claims, he continued to beat the collusion drum, which caused every Republican on the HPSCI to demand he resign as chairman.

Swalwell has even more egregious issues. A legend in his own mind who staged a failed run for president in 2020, Swalwell reportedly had a long-running affair with a Chinese woman named Fang Fang—identified as a spy for the Chinese Communist Party.

Breitbart previously reported that the affair between the two included explicit sexual relations. Somehow, Pelosi still has Swalwell on the House Intelligence Committee.

Meanwhile Omar, an anti-Semite doesn’t even hide the fact that she is one, and has made a number of antisemitic comments over the years, and even more egregiously downplayed the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, referring to the incident as, “Some people did something.”

Removing Omar from the House Foreign Affairs committee has long been a goal of House Republicans, tiring of her anti-American, pro-Islamic terrorist diatribes.

McCarthy also plans to use a possible elevation to Speaker to deal with the Chinese Communist Party.

At one time, Pelosi supported it, however for reasons unknown, Pelosi turned on it in 2020 at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, when Democrat support was withdrawn.

Despite Pelosi’s roadblocks, McCarthy moved forward with a minority-led China task force anyway, which produced recommendations on dealing with the problems raised by an advancing China, Breitbart said, and hinted a full committee would be implemented if he leads the next Congress.

“I’ve looked and tried to get a committee on China,” McCarthy said.

“She [Pelosi] walked away from it when it took me eight months to get it—she walked away from it and you watch what’s happening today. Would we have the supply chain problem?

We did a China task force—we didn’t stop. You read through the recommendations—and those are the things we are going to implement. But America would be stronger today had we been able to do that sooner.”

The Republican caucus does have some internal problems to deal with as well, with McCarthy referencing the recent dust-up involving freshman Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert (R).

Democrats were attempting to remove her from committee assignments after what were deemed “crude comments” about the insufferable Omar. McCarthy explained how he would deal with such issues within his caucus.

“The people that are causing this problem are not in the Republican conference,” McCarthy said.

“They’re the Democrats and the Democrat policy. The media tries to get Republicans to fight together. I believe in the Reagan 11th Commandment—we don’t have to be attacking one another.

“We know when we attack one another, we empower Democrats. We need to stop that policy from them.

We need to unite together and move forward and that’s exactly what we’ve been doing, and I think members on all sides—bring them closer together, stop any infighting, and if a member individually makes a mistake they apologize for it.

They own up to it. They don’t harm the rest of the conference by that. Lauren Boebert made a joke, referenced something, and then she apologized to the public, and then she called Ilhan Omar about it.”

Contrasting how Republicans are treated compared to Democrats, McCarthy noted that during that same week, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), in a close second to Swalwell for the dumbest member in Congress, called McCarthy the leader of the “Ku Klux Klan conference”—and nobody said a word to Pelosi about that smear during her weekly press conference.

McCarthy noted the different standards the media holds Republicans to as opposed to Democrats, referring to both the comments of Sandy Cortez and Omar.

McCarthy said his style in dealing with his members would be handled differently than how former Republican Speakers Paul Ryan and John Boehner did, in particular the House Freedom Caucus.

“Because I’m a conservative,” McCarthy said in explaining how he will manage the Republican conference.

“I just think in the past the conference got too much into different identities,” McCarthy said.

“I think we’re one Republican conference. I want to treat everybody equal. I understand not everyone who comes to Washington, even though you come as a Republican is exactly the same—and every district is not the same.

So you’re going to have some difference of opinion but 90 percent of your philosophy is completely the same. So work on the things we agree upon, bring everybody in…”

McCarthy said that whatever he does will be done based “on what I think is best for the country. Some will like it and some won’t,” he said. “…I do not like the idea of people going out in the party criticizing one another. That’s got to stop.

It’s the Democratic policy, and I know the frustration it causes, but there are a lot of things Pelosi does that try to make Republicans fight among themselves. Let’s not take the bait let’s focus on the American public, and work together to make that happen,” he told Breitbart.

He also noted that any committee appointments would be based on merit alone, and that membership in groups such as the Freedom Caucus or any other group wouldn’t have a bearing on people serving on committees, which is in opposition to how Boehner and Ryan worked in the past.

McCarthy said, “You’ve got Freedom Caucus people who are ranking members of committees. You’ve got them on every single committee there is, and you’ve got moderates on every single committee. No one is going to be held back.”

McCarthy said that nobody “will…be withheld from [a slot] because of the case of what organization internally you belong to.”
